Tutwoo Kids – kids.tutwoo.com
Last updated: 28 October 2026
Our rules for kids
- Be kind. Use Tutwoo Kids to learn and have fun.
- Keep your password secret. Only share it with your grown-up.
- Don’t type private things like your full name, address, school or phone number – not even to the owls.
- The owls are clever, but they can get things wrong. If an answer seems odd, check with a grown-up or your teacher.
- Don’t try to break the website or trick the owls into saying silly or unkind things.
- If anything makes you feel worried or unsafe, stop and tell a grown-up you trust. You can call Childline free on 0800 1111, and 999 in an emergency.
The full terms (for parents, carers and young people aged 13 to 16)
Please read these terms carefully. They explain the rules for using Tutwoo Kids and the agreement between you and us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information.
1. About us
Tutwoo Kids (kids.tutwoo.com) is run by Tutwoo UK Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number [company number to be added]), whose registered office is at 167–169 Great Portland Street, Westminster, London, W1W 5PF. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Tutwoo UK Limited.
You can contact us at [email protected].
2. Who the agreement is with
- Children under 13: the agreement is with the parent or carer who creates the parent account and adds the child profile. The parent or carer accepts these terms for themselves and on behalf of their child, and is responsible for making sure the child understands and follows our rules for kids.
- Young people aged 13 to 16: a young person may create their own account and accept these terms, but should do so with the knowledge of a parent or carer. By creating an account, they confirm they are aged 13 or over. If they are under 18, we recommend a parent or carer reads these terms with them.
“You” in these terms means the parent or carer, or the young person aged 13 to 16 who holds their own account, as the case may be.
3. What Tutwoo Kids provides
Tutwoo Kids is an online learning service for learners aged 2 to 16, from Early Years to GCSE. It includes:
- courses made up of short lessons, quizzes and explainer content;
- certificates of completion when a course is finished; and
- AI owl tutors (Pip, Juno, Ziggy and Remi) that answer questions about lessons.
We may update, improve or change the content and features from time to time. If we make a change that significantly affects a paid plan you have bought, we will tell you in advance and explain your options.
4. Accounts
- Parent accounts: a parent or carer creates a parent account with their name, email address and password, and can then add child profiles for children under 13.
- Child profiles: each profile uses a first name or nickname (please do not use a child’s full name), a learning stage and a username and password chosen by the parent.
- Teen accounts: young people aged 13 to 16 may create their own account and may choose to link it to a parent account.
- One person per account or profile. Please do not share accounts or profiles between different people.
- Family accounts are for your own household. A parent account can have up to 4 child or teen profiles (including linked teen accounts). You must not share, sell, rent or give away login details or accounts to anyone outside your family, or list them on account-selling or reselling websites. Each account can be logged in on a limited number of devices at the same time, and older sessions are signed out automatically. If we reasonably believe an account is being shared outside the family or resold, we may ask you to confirm details, reset passwords, or suspend or close the account in line with section 13.
- Keep passwords safe. Do not share login details with anyone else (children may share them with their parent or carer). Tell us straight away if you think an account has been used without permission.
- Accurate information. Please give accurate information when setting up an account, including a truthful confirmation of age for teen accounts.
- Parents are responsible for their children’s use of Tutwoo Kids through child profiles, and for deciding whether Tutwoo Kids is suitable for their child. We encourage parents to review their child’s progress and owl tutor chats in the parent dashboard.
5. Acceptable use
Everyone using Tutwoo Kids must:
- be kind and respectful, including in questions typed to the owl tutors;
- not share personal details (such as full names, addresses, schools, phone numbers, email addresses or photos) in owl tutor chats;
- not try to break things – for example by hacking, attacking or overloading the site, getting into other people’s accounts, getting round security or age checks, or trying to trick the owl tutors into producing harmful or inappropriate content;
- not copy or scrape our content, or use automated tools to access the site, except as allowed in section 10;
- not use Tutwoo Kids for anything unlawful, or to harm, bully or upset anyone.
6. The AI owl tutors
The owl tutors are a study helper, not a teacher, and not a replacement for school, a qualified tutor or professional advice.
- The owls use artificial intelligence provided by Anthropic. AI can make mistakes, misunderstand questions or give answers that are incomplete or out of date. Please check important answers against the lesson, a textbook or a teacher.
- The owls are designed to stick to lesson topics and never to ask for personal information.
- If a child tells an owl that they feel unsafe, the owl will encourage them to talk to a trusted adult and point them to Childline (0800 1111) and 999 in an emergency. The owls are not an emergency or counselling service, and we do not monitor chats in real time.
- Owl tutor chats are stored for 90 days so that parents of children under 13 can review them, and are then deleted. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Our content and results
- We work hard to make our content accurate and age-appropriate, and we follow the national curriculum for England. However, schools teach topics in different orders and ways, and exam boards have different specifications. Please check what your school or exam board requires.
- We cannot guarantee any particular result, grade or exam outcome. Progress depends on many things, including how the service is used.
- If you spot a mistake in our content, please tell us at [email protected] so we can fix it.
8. Certificates
Certificates of completion show that a learner has finished a Tutwoo Kids course. They are not qualifications. They are not regulated by Ofqual, are not awarded by an exam board and do not count towards GCSEs or any other qualification.
9. Independence
Tutwoo Kids is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Department for Education (DfE), Ofqual or any exam board. Any references to them, to the national curriculum or to exam specifications are for information only.
10. Intellectual property
All content on Tutwoo Kids – including lessons, quizzes, explainers, certificates, the owl characters (Pip, Juno, Ziggy and Remi), designs, logos and software – belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws.
We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use Tutwoo Kids for your own or your family’s home learning. You may print a certificate or a small amount of material for personal home use. You must not copy, sell, share publicly, republish or reuse our content for any other purpose (including in a school, business or other website) without our written permission.
11. Price, the family plan and payments
- The first lesson of every course is free.
- A paid family plan is coming soon. Its price, what it includes, how payment works, how long it lasts, how it renews and how to cancel will be set out clearly before you buy. Nothing will be charged unless you choose to buy a paid plan.
- Only a parent, carer or other adult may buy a paid plan.
- When paid plans launch, we will update these terms with any extra details and will follow the consumer and subscription rules that apply at the time.
12. Your consumer rights
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not take away. In summary:
- Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality, and services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. If they are not, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.
- Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, when you buy a paid plan online you will normally have 14 days to cancel and receive a refund. If you ask us to start the paid service during those 14 days and then cancel, we may deduct an amount for the service already provided. If digital content is supplied straight away with your express consent and acknowledgement, the right to cancel for that content may be lost. We will explain how this works, and ask for your agreement where needed, before you buy.
For more information, contact Citizens Advice.
13. Suspending or closing accounts
- You can close a parent account or teen account, or delete a child profile, at any time. Parents can delete child profiles from the parent dashboard; otherwise email us.
- We may suspend or close an account or profile if we reasonably believe these terms have been seriously or repeatedly broken, if it is needed to protect a child or other users, for security reasons, or if the law requires it. Where appropriate we will tell you why and, where possible, give you a chance to put things right first.
- We may need to suspend the service briefly for maintenance, updates or to fix problems. We will try to keep this to a minimum.
- If we decide to close Tutwoo Kids altogether, we will give reasonable notice and refund any amount paid for a period you will not receive.
14. Our responsibility to you
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
- If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable.
- Tutwoo Kids is for domestic and private use. We are not responsible for any business losses.
- If digital content we supply damages a device or other digital content belonging to you, and this is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you fair compensation.
15. Complaints
If you are unhappy with anything, please email [email protected]. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 14 days. Complaints about how we use personal information are handled as set out in our Privacy Policy, and you may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect new features, the launch of paid plans or changes in the law. We will change the “last updated” date at the top. If we make important changes, we will tell account holders by email or with a clear notice on the site before the changes take effect. If you do not agree with the changes, you can close your account. If you have a paid plan, we will explain your options, including cancelling and receiving a refund for any period you have paid for but not received.
17. Other important terms
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. We will tell you if this happens and make sure your rights are not reduced.
- If a court decides that part of these terms is unlawful, the rest will still apply.
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Nobody else has any rights under these terms.
18. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can bring legal proceedings in either the Scottish or the English courts. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can bring legal proceedings in either the Northern Irish or the English courts.
