Terms for schools

Tutwoo Kids for schools – terms for schools
Last updated: 29 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are between Tutwoo UK Limited (company number [company number to be added]), 167–169 Great Portland Street, Westminster, London, W1W 5PF (“Tutwoo”, “we”, “us”) and the school or other organisation that registers for Tutwoo Kids for schools (“the school”, “you”). The person who registers confirms that they are a member of staff authorised to accept these terms for the school.

Our data processing agreement for schools forms part of these terms. Pupils and staff using the service must also follow the acceptable use rules in our Tutwoo Kids terms (section 5). These terms are a business agreement with the school; the consumer rights described in the Tutwoo Kids terms for families do not apply to them.

2. The service

Tutwoo Kids for schools gives your school a school dashboard, staff accounts, pupil accounts, access to Tutwoo Kids courses, quizzes and AI owl tutors, class work with due dates, skills checks, progress reports, downloadable reports, parent reports and parent codes, pupil imports from a spreadsheet and, if you choose, Google or Microsoft sign-in. We may improve and change the service over time; we will not make changes that significantly reduce what your school has paid for without telling you first.

3. Free trial

  • The free trial lasts 30 days from registration and covers one class of up to 35 pupils. No payment details are needed.
  • We check every new school. We may refuse or end a trial if we cannot confirm that the school and the person registering are genuine.
  • When the trial ends, nothing is deleted straight away. Changes are paused and full lessons are locked. You can still view and download reports and delete pupils. Unless you start a school plan, we delete pupil and teacher accounts within 90 days of the end of the trial, as described in the data processing agreement.

4. School plans and prices

  • School plans start from £299 a month plus VAT for up to 100 pupils, with as many classes and staff accounts as you need. More pupils can be added in packs of 100 for £149 a month plus VAT each.
  • You can instead pay yearly in advance and get 12 months for the price of 10: £2,990 a year plus VAT for up to 100 pupils, plus £1,490 a year plus VAT for each extra pack of 100.
  • Before you pay, we show your school’s price, the number of pupils covered and the VAT. You get an invoice or receipt for every payment.
  • Plans are paid in advance, monthly or yearly, by card or by invoice. Your school plan starts once we have received payment. If a payment is more than 14 days late, we will remind you, and if it is still unpaid 14 days after that reminder we may pause your school’s account until it is paid.
  • We may change our prices by giving you at least 30 days’ notice by email. If you do not agree, you can end your plan before the new price applies.

5. Ending your plan

You can end your school plan at any time by emailing [email protected] or contacting us. It ends at the end of the monthly or yearly period you have already paid for, and we do not refund part periods unless these terms say otherwise. After it ends, your school personal information is handled as described in section 12 of the data processing agreement.

6. Your school’s responsibilities

  • Give school accounts only to authorised staff, keep login details secure, and remove staff who leave.
  • Enter only the pupil information the service asks for (a first name, the first letter of the surname, a class and, if you use school sign-in, a school email address), and follow the data processing agreement.
  • Tell pupils and parents how Tutwoo Kids is used, for example in your privacy notice, and supervise pupils’ use of the service as you would any other online learning tool.
  • Do not share pupil accounts between pupils, resell access, or use the service for anyone who is not a pupil or member of staff at your school.

7. Our content, the owl tutors and reports

  • Our courses are written to follow the national curricula and exam specifications for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we check them carefully. Mistakes can still happen; please tell us if you find one and we will fix it.
  • The owl tutors use artificial intelligence to explain lessons. They can make mistakes, and they support teaching rather than replacing it.
  • Progress reports, skills check results and “worth a look” flags describe activity on Tutwoo Kids only. They are not an assessment of a pupil’s ability and do not identify or diagnose any special educational need or disability. Any concern about a pupil should follow your school’s usual process.
  • Tutwoo Kids is independent and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any government department, exam board or qualifications body. Certificates are for encouragement and are not qualifications.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service available at all times, but it may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. We will try to carry out planned maintenance outside school hours and give notice of any long planned interruption.

9. Intellectual property

We (or our licensors) own the courses, quizzes, images, videos, owl characters and software. We give your school a non-exclusive licence to use them through the service for its pupils’ education while your trial or plan lasts. Your school keeps its rights in the information it puts into the service.

10. Suspending or ending the service

We may suspend or end your school’s access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if payment remains unpaid as described in section 4, or if we need to do so to protect pupils, other users or the service. Where it is reasonable, we will contact you first and give you a chance to put things right.

11. Responsibility for loss

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow to be limited.
  • Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or data that you could have avoided by following our instructions or by downloading reports.
  • Subject to that, our total liability to your school in any 12-month period is limited to the fees your school paid us in that period, or £100 if you have not paid any fees.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example to reflect new features or changes in the law. We will email your lead account holder at least 30 days before any change that affects your school, and you can end your plan before it takes effect if you do not agree.

13. Other important terms

If a court decides that part of these terms is not valid, the rest still applies. If we delay enforcing these terms, we can still enforce them later. Nobody other than you and us has any rights under these terms. These terms, with the data processing agreement and any written price confirmation, are the whole agreement between us about Tutwoo Kids for schools.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except where the law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere in the UK.
